More story to come, but for now: My first public installation. Swirling Tresses is 36′ W x 5′-1′ H & D, made from strips of aluminum with copper tubing. It was built in three sections and connected during installation and hangs over the REALLY NICE Kut ‘n Kurl section of this gorgeous salon.
It hangs in the lovely Aveda Salon in the Ridgedale Mall in Plymouth, MN, a Minneapolis suburb. HUGE thanks to my friends and sculptors, Heidi Hoy and Bruce Stillman, who made this opportunity possible, and to Linda Voigt, Jackie Honn and Lisa Banwell, owners of the salon who so enthusiastically embraced the design.
More details to follow. Approx 36′ W x 5′ D x1′ D (it’s a horizontal cone that increases in diameter from one end to the other)
